About Zenbrowse

A small publishing project covering one narrow subject: how much of the modern web you actually have to accept, and what filtering tools can change about it.

Why this website exists

Open almost any page today and the article you came for arrives surrounded by advertising networks, analytics scripts and tracking requests you never asked for. Most people have simply learned to tune it out. Zenbrowse exists to set out the alternative plainly — what filtering tools actually do about that, and what they do not.

We are a consumer information website. We do not build, publish, sell or support any ad blocker, filter list or browser extension ourselves, and we provide no cybersecurity services.

The product category we cover

Our coverage focuses on ad blocking and content filtering — browser extensions and device-level applications that filter advertising, trackers and, in some cases, DNS requests. AdGuard is the product featured on our homepage.

This is a category where honest expectation-setting matters. No ad blocker catches everything: websites change how they serve ads, filter lists lag behind, and capability differs sharply between desktop and mobile. Ad and tracker blocking is also not a substitute for comprehensive cybersecurity practices. We say so consistently, because a reader who installs something on the strength of an overstated promise is a reader we have failed.

Our editorial approach

Claims we will not make

No invented statistics, no fabricated user counts, no rankings we cannot substantiate, and no countdown timers or manufactured scarcity. If a figure is not something we can point to, it does not appear on the page.

How we frame products

Featured products are described in terms of what they are designed to do, with the caveats attached. We use words like “may” and “varies” when those are the honest words, even where a stronger one would convert better.

Advertising, disclosed up front

Our homepage article is a paid advertorial and is labelled as one at the very top of the page, above the header, before any content. Nothing about that arrangement is buried in a footnote.

Corrections

If something we publish is inaccurate or has gone out of date, write to us and we will review it. Features, platform support and pricing change often; we would rather fix a page than defend it.

Transparency about commercial relationships

Zenbrowse is a commercially supported website. The homepage article is sponsored content, and the links to the featured product are affiliate links. If a reader goes on to use or purchase something after following one of those links, this website may receive compensation from the advertiser or its affiliate network.

That compensation does not add anything to the price a reader pays, and it does not buy a guarantee of positive coverage — the caveats above sit on the same page as the promotion. Full details are set out in our Advertising Disclaimer.

Who we write for

Our audience is general-interest: people who are tired of pop-ups and autoplay video, who are not security professionals, and who want a straightforward explanation before installing anything. Content is written in US English and reflects US consumer-privacy expectations, including the rights described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not provide legal, financial, medical or professional advice of any kind, and nothing on this website should be treated as such. Always confirm a provider's current terms and pricing with that provider.
